Travel Highlight: Springbreak Retreat in Maui

In the spirit of adventure, my family’s recent spring break took us to the picturesque shores of Maui. Despite the recent fire aftermath, our vacation remained unaffected, and we were fortunate to witness the island's resilient spirit firsthand. It was heartwarming to see the community come together, and we were grateful to contribute to the local economy by supporting small businesses and artisans.

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at the picturesque Westin Kanapali, where every moment felt like a dream. From the moment we stepped foot onto the property, we were greeted with warm hospitality and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. One of the highlights of the hotel was undoubtedly the Lania, with a zero gravity pool that overlooked the ocean. Little did we know that our leisurely moments would be punctuated by the delightful surprise of spotting numerous whales frolicking in the distance—an unexpected treat during whale season! In addition to the Lanai offering a luxurious place to unwind or a place to enjoy a family game, the Lanai at Westin Kanapali also served local cuisine for both breakfast and dinner. Each meal was a culinary journey, showcasing the vibrant flavors and fresh ingredients of Maui's rich culinary heritage.

Our days were filled with exhilarating adventures that showcased the natural wonders of Maui. We embarked on a scenic drive to Twin Falls, where we embarked on a memorable hike to witness the majestic waterfalls. The beauty of the landscape left us in awe, and we were reminded of the island's unparalleled charm at every turn.

Embarking on a scenic drive to Twin Falls, we ventured deeper into Maui's lush landscapes. The hike to the waterfalls was nothing short of magical, with each step revealing breathtaking vistas and hidden gems along the way. The cascading waterfalls served as a reminder of nature's awe-inspiring beauty, leaving us feeling humbled and grateful for the opportunity to witness such natural wonders.

On our way back from the Twin Falls, we passed through a charming town, Paia, HI, where we couldn't resist stopping. We found ourselves enchanted by the local boutiques, each offering unique treasures and souvenirs that captured the essence of island life. We also took the time to explore the cozy coffee shops and restaurants, savoring the flavors of Maui while soaking in the laid-back atmosphere.

For a dose of adrenaline-fueled fun, we ventured to Kapalua for an unforgettable zip-lining experience with Kapalua Ziplines. Soaring through the lush valleys and towering trees, we felt a rush of exhilaration unlike any other—a moment we'll cherish forever. My favorite was the ability to do it in tandem with the kiddos.

Of course, no trip to Maui would be complete without indulging in its culinary delights. We savored the most delectable sushi at Sansei in Kapalua, where each bite was a symphony of flavors and freshness. And no visit to Lahaina would be complete without a stop at Monkey Pod, where we enjoyed delicious cocktails and local dishes against the backdrop of a vibrant sunset.

As we reflect on our time in Maui, we're filled with gratitude for the unforgettable memories we've created and the warm hospitality that welcomed us at every turn. Our spring break retreat was a reminder of the beauty of travel—the opportunity to immerse ourselves in new experiences, connect with nature, and create lasting memories with loved ones.

From soaking in the breathtaking sunsets to indulging in delectable island cuisine, Maui offered a rejuvenating escape filled with unforgettable experiences. And amidst the palm-fringed beaches and lush landscapes, I found inspiration at every turn, from the vibrant colors of tropical flora to the organic textures of the coastline.

Styling Tip: Embrace Nature's Palette and Spring Cleaning Delight

As we welcome the season of renewal, it's the perfect time to refresh our living spaces through the art of spring cleaning and bringing nature into your interior design scheme. However, it's essential not to get overwhelmed by the task at hand. Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither should your spring cleaning be!

Take a cue from my own journey: I started with the hanging clothes in my closet and the culinary haven of my kitchen and butler's pantry. The feeling of decluttering and organizing was truly invigorating. Now, I'm excited to tackle my closet again with the shelves of shoes and drawers, one step at a time.

If the thought of tackling an entire room feels daunting, break it down even further. Start with one drawer at a time, or perhaps one shelf. By breaking the task into manageable chunks, you'll find that the process becomes much more enjoyable and achievable.

As you embark on your own spring cleaning adventure, don't forget to savor the moments of transformation. Clearing out the clutter not only revitalizes your physical space but also brings a sense of clarity and peace to your mind.

Once you have cleared the clutter, consider incorporating elements of nature into your home. From fresh blooms to earthy textures, nature's palette offers a wealth of inspiration for infusing your spaces with warmth and vitality.

Try adding pops of greenery with potted plants or botanical prints, or introduce natural materials like rattan, wood, and stone to create a sense of organic elegance. Embracing nature's palette not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of your home but also fosters a connection to the outdoors, promoting a sense of tranquility and well-being.

So, grab your favorite cleaning supplies, put on some uplifting music, and dive into the joyful process of spring cleaning and bringing the beauty of God’s nature inside. With each item sorted and each space refreshed, you'll be one step closer to creating a home that truly reflects your style and spirit.

Until next time, happy styling and happy spring cleaning!

Stay tuned for my May picks!
